    Where is God?

    Photobucket

    by J. Rumi (1207-1273)

    I tried to find Him on the Christian cross, but He was not there;
    I went to the Temple of the Hindus and to the old pagoda,
    but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere.
    I searched the mountains and the valleys
    but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I able to find Him.
    I went to the Kaaba in Mecca, but He was not there either.
    I questioned the scholars and philosophers, but He was beyond their understanding.
    I then looked into my heart
    and it was there where He dwelled that I saw him;
    He was nowhere else to be found.

    By day I praised you
    and never knew it.
    By night I stayed with you
    and never knew it.
    I always thought that
    I was me--but no,
    I was you
    and never knew it.

    That We Might See Through

    Differences are what makes us so interesting.

    Differences are what make us all so unique.

    Differences are we are all here -

    that we might learn to see from, through and beyond our own limitations.

    If the human heart is in truth a mirror, then we are all our own looking glasses -

    cast in a unique shape and form,

    and thus capable of reflecting light from a slightly different perspective.

    In truth, we are like diamonds sparkling in the moonlight.

    We are like jewels bathing in the calm sunlight of God’s love.

    Ma’as salama,

    Abdur Rahman

    Thorns

    Any body can love a rose, but it takes a great deal to love a thorn…

    A rose is not injured though it lives in midst of them, then how about we?

    Let’s not complain about others, Let’s change ourselfs if only we want peace.

    It is easier to protect our feet with slippers than to cover the earth with carpet.
