    quellos a quienes ama.

    the wonders of the world

A group of students were asked to list what
they thought were the present Seven Wonders
of the World. Though there was some
disagreement, the following got the most votes:

    1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
        2. Taj Mahal
        3. Grand Canyon
        4. Panama Canal
        5. Empire State Building
        6. St. Peter's Basilica
        7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one
quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet.
So she asked the girl if she was having trouble
with her list.  The girl replied, "Yes, a little.
I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were
so many."  The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you
have, and maybe we can help."

    The girl hesitated,
then read, "I think the Seven
    Wonders of the World are:

        1. to touch
        2. to taste
        3. to see
        4. to hear
She hesitated a little, and then added
        5. to feel
        6. to laugh
        7. and to love

The room was so full of silence you
could have heard a pin drop.
Those things we overlook as simple and "ordinary"
are truly wondrous.  A gentle reminder that the
most precious things in life cannot be bought

    A neruda night

    Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Oh Neruda, how mistaken to think it so simple.

If I could cease the verse that exalts this love.

You, too wise in years, must see hypocrisy move your pen

along these lines, along that wrinkle along that

stitch that bursts at a slight tingle. You of all must know

    as a poet cannot behoove Himself to compose poetry;

neither can he improve On that state wherein his heart is

left to mingle. Yet I ask, why would you wish such a pain gone

When it is within this pain that we grow It is within this pain

that our minds have borne The legacy that Shelley defended

so we might know some small detail of this pain in love they

scorn; this pain that will ultimately strike its final blow

    by successor.

    the little things

There are certain things in life, that makes us what and who we are. Family, Friends, Lovers, Money, Clothes, Cars etc. The world has a tendency to screw you ever so deeply, and fill your days with endless sorrow and strife. But when you fall flat on your face you know that you have to get up, it just so happens to be that nagging thing we call life. Here is a few things I've come to learn, that helps me out without fault. Because if it helps me it just might help you, but take my words with a grain of salt.& When you say, “ I love you ” mean your words, When you say, “Im so sorry” look that person in the eye.& Love deeply and passionately even if you might get bruised, Because that is the only way of knowing that youre still alive. When you disagree with someone regardless of what it is, Stand on your own two feet and fight fair. But dont let a little dispute or grudge, Ruin a friendship you've had for years. When youre walking up the road, How hard would it be to say, “ Good afternoon or good morning ”? And when a friend is telling you a dry story, Try not to make them feel as though they were so boring. Whenever you lose the battle, try not to lose the lesson. And when you do someone a favor, Do it with the best intentions and without question. If you see someone down, For all you know it could really be profound, Let them know that you'll always be around, All they’ll need to do is listen for the sound, Of your footsteps coming, To give them a shoulder to cry on. And give those you care for as much love as possible, For tomorrow they could be gone. Im not trying to preach, Im just saying to be a good person, How hard could that be? We share this world, As one humanity.

    Farewel to Commen Sense

    Farewell to Mr Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense.
Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as being able to bring us such valuable lessons
such as knowing when to come in out of the rain,
why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn`t always fair (so stop whining you Emo`s).
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don`t spend more than you earn)
and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).
His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
    "Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate;
    teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch;
and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student," only worsened his condition.
Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent
to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents
when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
    Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became obsolete;
churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a
steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a
huge financial settlement (I`m in the mood for a Big Mac).
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust,
his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

    Life is

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is a beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is life, fight for it

    Slave to knowledge

"If you teach someone what to think, you make them a slave to your knowledge, if you teach someone how to think, you make all knowledge their slave."
